ABOUT ME

Roxy Lou exposed… no, no, no, just demystified.
If you are at all curious about who I am and what services I provide, this will be your primer so you can continue reading.  If you’re not curious, maybe I have put something else of interest to you on this blog, so, please peruse my postings…
About 3 years ago I took the plunge and quit the steady paycheck to open up my own personal training studio, conveniently located in my old garage  just 20 feet from my back door.   My job description is just to pretty much beat the crap out of clients.  More specifically, get THEM to beat the crap out of themselves – all under my direction.   I know, fun job yes?  Not easy though.
In nicer terms, the focus of my work is to direct clients in an exercise program that supports their active lifestyle. I firmly believe most of our everyday discomforts can be cured by exericse.  Also by eating more vegetables, but I like to deal with the exercise part and just TELL you to eat more vegetables.  Besides, vegetables deserve a posting of their own.   Here’s where I could go on and on and on about the benefits of exercise, but I won’t, as this is my time to tell about me and my business.
I consider myself a functional fitness trainer.  If you want to build powerful-LOOKING muscles, and compete in contests with others with said powerful-LOOKING muscles, I’m not your trainer.   I want to build beautiful, functional muscles that power you through your many moments. I can’t really claim you will live longer training with me, but you will feel better while you are living.
What kind of living do you want to do?  Do you want to own some bragging rights to running a marathon?  How about kickin’ booty in your chosen sport.  Better yet,  how about teaching  your grandson how to ride a bike?  Maybe you just want to keep from falling down.  These are all lofty goals in my eyes and worth training for.  Whatever your activity and/or ability, I want to figure out how to make you more capable and better at doing it, all without getting  yourself hurt.   About now you are thinking “Interesting Roxanne.  Please tell me more about the process…”
If you are one of the people who said “do tell” you would come in for a free session.  This “taste of my training” will show you the tools I use to help you be your physical best and explain what goes on in a training session at RoxyLou.   At this time I will listen to you and what you think about your level of fitness and why you came to seek out a trainer.  Secretly though, and while I am still listening to you, I will be assessing you with my trained eye, gathering MY own thoughts about your level of fitness and what you need to live better.  If what I think and what you think are not that far off, you end up hiring me and come to see me  1, 2, or 3 times a week.
At the same time while I work to help you become your best physical self, I make sure your body stays in balance.  Muscle imbalances are breeding grounds for joint disfunction and injury.  I want to keep you out of the doctor’s office, out of the surgeon’s hands, and out of the pharmaceutical companies care.
Lastly, after working in this field for more than seven years, it has become apparent that not everyone shares my same appreciation for exercise!  I know, shocking, but true.  Some people just don’t like it.  They know they need it, they just don’t like it.  In my work, I try to figure out how to make it bearable, maybe even fun for you. You know you need exercise, let me make it easier for you to get it.  While I mostly appreciate when a client makes a line for me in their budget, their long-term budget, I do not require a contract and you are free to come less often than I would like.
Well enough about me, give me a call at 720-220-7227 and let’s get started on the better you.  Together…
